Our Story

Welcome to Precious Pets, Sioux Falls’ trusted home for professional pet care since 1992.

For more than 30 years, we’ve proudly served families across the community with compassionate,
individualized care in a clean, safe, and loving environment.

Precious Pets is a family-owned and operated business, proudly rooted in Sioux Falls.
Founded by sisters Sarah and Julia, both born and raised right here in Sioux Falls South
Dakota, the business remains a true local legacy. Today, Sarah and Julia continue to guide the
company’s mission and values, while their son and nephew Trevor oversees day-to-day
operations along with talented longtime team members. Together, they’ve built a business
grounded in hard work, hometown values, and genuine care — and a true reflection of
American small-business spirit.

What sets us apart is our unwavering commitment to personalized care and one-on-one
attention. We know every pet has its own personality, needs, and preferences. Our
experienced team takes the time to connect with each animal, ensuring they feel comfortable,
safe, and loved — just like family. From gentle handling for nervous pets to extra playtime and
affection, we make every visit a positive experience.

Our services are designed to support your pet’s happiness, health, and comfort every step of
the way. At our Sioux Falls location, our Grooming Department provides everything from
routine baths and nail care to full styling and coat maintenance, all delivered with expert
attention and care. Our Dog Daycare Program is built around an open play concept and
enhanced by our enrichment program, giving dogs the chance to socialize, exercise, and
thrive in a structured, supervised setting.

For overnight stays, our 11-acre countryside boarding resort offers an out-of-city
experience away from the hustle and bustle. The property features a purpose-built facility
designed specifically for boarding, where dogs enjoy fresh air, open space, and the comfort
of a secure, peaceful environment tailored to their needs.

As we continue to grow, our mission remains unchanged: to provide high-quality,
compassionate care in a welcoming environment where pets are treated with the love and
respect they deserve. At Precious Pets, your pet’s happiness, comfort, and safety come first —

I wish I could give Precious Pets Salon & Doggie Daycare 10 stars. We dropped our two black labs off with them yesterday for the first time. Although they've been boarded many times when we've gone on vacations, this is the first time we've used a daycare service. Trevor was exception and very knowledgeable and helpful. Right away, I was very comfortable leaving my pups in his care. When we picked them up, the didn't want to leave the facility! Once in the car, our female kept looking at the door and moving her ears all around as if trying to find/hear her new friends. As we pulled away, she ran to the car windows to keep an eye on the doors, as we pulled away, she kept wagging her tail and whining. It was clear our dogs had an absolute blast. It was as if we were dragging them away from Disney World. Our older dog was worn out, but equally as happy, he was just lying down in the backseat smiling. We live in MN, but we're visiting and caring for an ill family member in SD. Precious Pet is now our go-to when we are too busy caring for our loved one and can't devote time to exercise our dogs.
